I wanted to let everyone know that SolarEdge has apparently released an updated version of their desktop app that removes the Admin icon (for those of us that have that level of access from our installer) so you can no longer generate an API key if you need it. I spoke to SolarEdge a couple of days ago and they absolutely refused to restore it and said that now the only way for owners to regain Admin access to your system is to become a certified installer so you can register your inverter in your name. The problem with that is this will then remove your installers access to your system for them to be able to assist you when there’s a problem. Before I called SolarEdge I did confirm with my installer that my account still had the “Full “Access” they had originally setup for me so I wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this as well with SolarEdge. Thanks
I see I’ve lost the same ‘admin icon’ on the monitoring portal, I doubt my installer would’ve changed my level of access.
I wonder if it has something to do with their new API with OAuth - https://developers.solaredge.com/docs/monitoring
I can confirm I’ve also lost the Admin icon, I don’t think it will cause me any issues, as my Victron system now uploads all my data.
Not that impressed with SolarEdge to be honest, they count battery usage as generation, how stupid is that! I don’t have SE batteries, but their are members in our team that do.
