This year my total daily production and highest point of production per day has consistently been 8-10% lower than comparable days last year. My panels were installed less than 2 years ago and are not supposed to degrade more than 3% per year. I can’t think of any reason for such a large drop. I have a SolarEdge inverter and it says that the 24 optimizers are online, but I don’t know if that means all 24 panels are also online. I also compared my efficiency on sunny days last year to this year to two other solar producers in my area on three seperate days and the results weren’t good. On a sunny July day this year my panels had 5% less efficiency than a sunny July day last year, compared to the other produces actually gaining 5% and 9% efficiency. On an October day mine lost 14% efficiency compared to 2% and 3% loss to the other two. And for a November day I lost 13% compared to 3% and 5% loss. Any ideas of what the problem could be? How to check for it and how to fix it? Thank you in advance!
hi please use the Solar edge Monitoring Capabilities for Residential Systems to look inside your system, there is a 4 min 14 sec video on you tube about how to do this.
this is the link, hope this helps https://www.solaredge.com/products/pv-monitoring#/ if not
please ask again for help jim
Have you cleaned your panels. Most of my panels are mounted pretty flat (<10 degrees) so they have gotten pretty dirty with pollen/dirt. When my latest batch of panels were installed (30 degrees) the installer said he was amazed I was getting anything out of them at all :-). Cleaned them up and results were at least 10% increase in production.
