I have the service running under XP and all is normally ok but recently it has intermittently stopped running. I check the service log and the last entry is … stable library etc. But when I try restarting the service it doesn’t say “service already running” it says “starting service” and then “service started” as it would if it were never started in the first place. Is there any particular issues I could investigate which could cause this random ceasing of the service, especially as it’s not being reported in the log?

There are two log files service.log and pvoutput.log
- service.log will report any startup errors and should be the first place to look.
- pvoutput.log reports any activity after startup.
