Help Understanding Extended Data Usage for Battery Monitoring

Hi all,

I’m fairly new to PVOutput and have recently set up my solar system to upload both generation and consumption data successfully. Now, I’m exploring ways to integrate my battery data using the extended data fields.

I have a hybrid inverter that provides SOC (State of Charge), charge/discharge power, and battery voltage via API. I’ve been through some documentation and discussions, but I’m still a bit unsure how to format and assign these values properly for tracking and visualization.

A few quick questions:

  1. Which extended data slots are best for SOC and charge/discharge data?
  2. Is it possible to rename these fields for clearer labels in graphs?
  3. Any tips on handling time-sync issues between inverter API calls and PVOutput’s upload times?

I’ve been brushing up on data automation via an Alteryx Course, so I’m hoping to use it to streamline the data upload if that’s a viable option.

Would really appreciate any guidance or examples. This community has been super helpful so far

thank you all for sharing your expertise!

Not sure what you are needing but here is a link to extended data usage you could read through to see if these subjects could be applicable.
