Hi @fredfrey. My Symo used to have an option to either (i) manually set the time or (ii) automatically set the time. That setting was accessed within the /settings/common menu within the inverter on the GENERAL tab.I’ve posted an image of my screen showing the option - I posted this in an earlier post to PVO.
I wonder if access to this option has been removed from the ‘admin’ user and given to a higher level account? I do not have the ‘Service’ password for my inverter.
If the date / time is grossly in error the inverter may not correctly sync its time. Two other things to check though. Do you have a firewall that could be blocking TCP / UDP 123? This is required for ntp to work. If ntp is blocked the inverter will NOT be able to correctly set the time. The other possibility is if the inverter does not have the correct GATEWAY IP address. If you inverter connects using DHCP this should not be an issue. If the inverter is uploading data this suggests that the GATEWAY address is correct.
You should be able to download a simple tool like https://www.timesynctool.com/ to verify the port 123 is open.
If the port is open all I can suggest is that you call the installer again or try calling Fronius’ support at the least to complain about the installer. If the port was closed after you open it you may need to reboot the inverter to force it to check the time.
