Fronius - display wrong time displayed

hi,
I got a new solar system installed recently – Hyundai panels + Fronius Primo 8.2-1

Using fronius iphone app or solar.web website, the hours displayed in the graphs is not correct.
How do I change this?

In the app the correct time zone is displayed in settings

It seems to be 10 hrs behind.

I assume the graph should display a live time not starting at 00.00

I have also found an other way to login to inverter via http://localip/#/startpage but i dont have any admin password
Asked installer but no answers

Hi @fredfery. Assuming the Fronius inverter itself is displaying the correct time. Symo or Primo? You will need to set / check the timezone within the system. With the newer firmware it does not appear possible to manually set the time anymore using the GUI, only the timezone. You will need the ‘admin’ password in order to do this. I know that with my Symo inverter it was possible to reset the ‘admin’ password after putting the inverter into ‘WiFi AP’ - this is also used to commission the inverter.

http://fronius/#/settings/common

Within the solar web.com site you will also need to set the correct timezone.

thanks @grannos
it is Primo 8.2.1

Brisbane timezone is set in Solar.web profile (UTC+10)

About the first screen shot, do you access via? http://your ip/#/startpage

I dont have admin password. I have asked installer but no replies.
When I click on Settings, there is an option to reset password as Admin, User, or Service but I havent tried that as I’m concerned I might stuff something up (and installer not replying to my emails…)

i also see this error message

got the password @grannos and logged as admin

and I see the system time is wrong (show 8am instead of 5 pm) but I cant find where to change this settings

Hi @fredfrey. My Symo used to have an option to either (i) manually set the time or (ii) automatically set the time. That setting was accessed within the /settings/common menu within the inverter on the GENERAL tab.I’ve posted an image of my screen showing the option - I posted this in an earlier post to PVO.

I wonder if access to this option has been removed from the ‘admin’ user and given to a higher level account? I do not have the ‘Service’ password for my inverter.

If the date / time is grossly in error the inverter may not correctly sync its time. Two other things to check though. Do you have a firewall that could be blocking TCP / UDP 123? This is required for ntp to work. If ntp is blocked the inverter will NOT be able to correctly set the time. The other possibility is if the inverter does not have the correct GATEWAY IP address. If you inverter connects using DHCP this should not be an issue. If the inverter is uploading data this suggests that the GATEWAY address is correct.

You should be able to download a simple tool like https://www.timesynctool.com/ to verify the port 123 is open.

If the port is open all I can suggest is that you call the installer again or try calling Fronius’ support at the least to complain about the installer. If the port was closed after you open it you may need to reboot the inverter to force it to check the time.

looks like it is solved now, thanks

Called the installer and he told me when he came that the inverter reverted back to Austria time by itselft (where Fronius is from)

I contacted Fronius, never heard

Good to hear that there was an answer. I’ve found that Fronius email support can take a while to get started after lodging an initial query / fault.

Hi, I didn’t get the pwd as well - is there a default pwd for service ? Thx, Oli

If you don’t have the ‘service’ account password you would have to contact Fronius. Realistically though the ‘admin’ account will let you change everything that you would want to change. The ‘service’ account is for installers who have to configure the inverter for the particular grid to which it will be installed.
