I’ve had a horrid time trying to get my old laptop uploading again after it stopped a few weeks ago so decided to look for something easier.
If you can get your hands on an old Android phone or tablet this app from Oxley Solar works very well I found. It isn’t free but worth the trouble I believe as I found it easy to set up and it has worked flawlessly so far.

if anyone else comes here having issues:
Newer SMA inverters no longer seem to have bluetooth - they have built in wifi or ethernet only.
The oxley app only seems to offer connection to the inverter via bluetooth.
There are other solutions which support bluetooth and speedwire (webconnect)
SBFspot is one of them.
