Does SBFspot poll data from the Sunny Boy or Sunny Tripower Inverters over Speed wire using Modbus TCP

Hello,
How does the SBFspot application installed on a Raspberry PI poll data from the SMA Sunny Boy or Sunny Tripower inverters over speedwire? Does it use the ModBus TCP communication protocol?

No, it uses SMADATA2+ (A closed protocol of SMA)

Seriously? On what port does that communication take place? And does this also mean I can close the disable modbus interface in the settings page of the SunnyBoy?
