Controlled Load 1 - Hot Water Tariff

Hi All,

We have single rate and controlled load 1 for our hot water, this is generally from 11pm to 7am and all weekend, but the household power just on the normal rates through this off peak period.

My 3rd transmitter is set to the off peak water only wire, what my question is, is can you set up this transmitter to a particular rate (off peak rate) or even a “if” command eg (if over 3kw) tariff 15c kw etc, whereas my household load is set to another transmitter and should run on a 25c/kw tarriff. Not sure whether it’s possible?

Cheers
Nick

The Hot Water usage would be part of the total consumption figure which is always multiplied by the main import tariff.

You can roughly get this by using High Shoulder if it not already used. The problem is the rest of consumption is calculated at the same tariff as the hot water.

Yep that’s the issue… We’re working on an average of 8kw/day hot water consumption so pretty consistant so I can just include that in the daily figure to make things more or less accurate, when
it gets to 40c down here I expect that figure to drop significantly along with cold showers!

We installed a spit solar hot water system which is connected to a General Tariff [Ergon FNQ Tariff 11]. The circulation pumps power source is always [On] and the hot water booster is timer switched to when PV Production is available. Our hot water cost is negligible. If fact we do not subscribe to a time of use tariff to service any discretionary utilities like a pool pump etc we run all our utilities [Dishwasher & Clothes Washer] when Solar Production is available.
