Pvoutput issues getting data from enphase which has current data?

It’s not just envoy - my consumption data from Wattvision doesn’t update either. I only have data from 01:50 PDT to 07:10 PDT today (and I can pull data from both Wattvision and the enphase sites just fine).

I’m not sure why you’re having an issue with Wattvision, but there is something wrong at Enphase. I reied an API call directly to Enphase, outside of PVOutput, and got a “401 Unauthorized” error in return rather than the data I was expecting.

@pjschaffer, did you try the API call with the Enphase demo user_id?

https://api.enphaseenergy.com/api/v2/systems/67/summary?key=96a7de32fabc1dd8ff68ec43eca21c06&user_id=4d7a45774e6a41320a

Looking back at yesterday’s data I now realized that updates stopped at 19:00 PDT (and then resumed at 01:50 PDT for a few hours) - no consumption data (production was done by then) but no temperature data either…

Sadly, I think creating a demo user requires more rights than that for which I have been entitled.

Well, just re-authorized and it’s finally showing pvoutput.org under “Show applications that have API access”. No data yet, but still… progress.

No, I used my own system and API credentials. I have a script I had used in the past to update PVOutput before the auto update feature was added. There are a few new posts on the Enphase API forum referencing the same issue.

I just tried to access the API again. Like before I used my personal keys and got the same error. However, I also tried using a different key that I use for my own updates and that one was successful. Enphase seems to be hit or miss right now.

PVoutput stopped getting my Enphase data abruptly at 4:15pm yesterday. Today shows the WattVision usage data, but that stopped as well at 7:10 today… about 7 hours ago. I doubt that is WattVision, maybe PVoutput? See image below from after 2pm local.

My Wattvision data stopped at the exact same time (7:10 PDT)

I have a Rainforest Eagle as a 2nd stream on my PVOutput. It was displaying consumption data UNTIL this morning when my system started generating power.

In other words, PVOutput was still receiving consumption data just fine. But as my net power consumption turned negative (since my solar system is still working), PVOutput just stops displaying any data at all (its still receiving Rainforest data, its just negative).

If the Enphase data starts flowing again OR if my net energy turns positive again, then I anticipate my Rainforest consumption data appearing on PVOutput again (which should happen sometime around 630PM this evening).

So I’m still convinced its an Enphase issue. Not an issue with any other vendor/company.

As of now, it appears my system is updating automatically again from Enphase.

So it does appear to require us to re-authorize? I just re-authorized and about 30 seconds later, all my data appeared. Not sure if that was a coincidence or not. The other 3 systems I monitor still do not have any data for today yet.

How do you re-authorize in PVOutput? I seem to have lost the API setting in Enphase also.

Nevermind, found it. Had to go into edit mode in PVOutput.

Well, after re-authorizing, all data is there for today. I am in California. Hope it keeps working. Thanks for the advice everyone.

well after reauthorizing as an attempt to fix just now 8:30pm EST NY time, my values came from enphase. So it seems reaurhthorizing through settings is required. Maybe Bloke can explain what happened and why reauthorization was required for some systems.

No changes on the PVOutput side regarding Enphase.

We were getting 401 unauthorized responses from Enphase for more than 24hrs, but it seems it the issue has been fixed on their end.

Unfortunately PVOutput will remove a system after a few hours of 401 errors from Enphase.

The usual way around this is to edit your system and Save after the problem is resolved.

The PVOutput Auto Uploader has been reset so this won’t be necessary - and the data is now being retrieved successfully from Enphase.

I own a personal account for my personal Enphase system, am not a manager. I experienced data stoppage from Enphase. Looking at this thread, I attempted reauthorizing PVOutput. I misunderstood how to do that, and hit the NEW KEY blue button in Settings. I thought this would allow me to paste in the existing key, thinking that was how to re-authorize PVOutput. I did save the old key value in a notepad file, also the new key value. I did not SAVE that screen. On a different screen I re-authorized PVOutput. Some time later I noticed web-based PVOutput was and is displaying correct Enphase data. So at least that is not broken. My mobile version of PVOutput is broken though, will not pull current data, and has lost historic Enphase system data. I must have messed up the API key for it. I see in the PVOutput online help file under Account Management:

"Click on New Key to enter a new API. The key must be 40 characters in length and only contain the characters a-f and/or 0-9. This should only be used to revert the key back to a previously generated key. "

This didn’t seem to work for me the one time I did it, it populated itself with a new key and did not allow manual entry of my previous key. I think I would like to revert to my previous key, and then save that screen to have it all working again. Any suggestions for me?

KL8S2W,

You can’t create a PVOutput API key manually, the “New Key” button creates a random one for you. You can create a “Read Only Key” manually and it doesn’t need to be 40 characters long.

Which mobile PVOutput app are you using? If you’re using the Android app by Mark McDonald, you need to enter the API key shown next to the blue button on your settings page for your account. Alternately, you can use your own “Read Only Key” in the box below your API Key that can be much shorter and easier to enter on a mobile device. As an example, my read only key is only a numeric key less than 10 digits. My own personal view is that for read only access, this is adequate for my security needs and the app works just fine as it doesn’t need to change anything at PVOutput.org.

ps: make sure that the selection box for API Access in your PVOutput Settings is set to “Enabled”

Does the lost data from Enphase remain lost or is there some mechanism to recover it? I’m getting my input today but of course yesterday shows as zero output. I’m not concerned with a glitch in the graph but the total output is more important to me.
Thanks
