Now have to login every time

Same here as well although it seems to be back to normal this morning.

I spoke too soon, I had to log in again today.

I doubt it is a browser setting as it happened on both my home PC running Firefox and my work PC running Chrome.

There’s been a fair amount of malicious bot/script activity consuming server resources. Depending on how the page was accessed, you’ll need to be logged in.

Same here, if I have not vistied in more than an hour I have to login again, “remember me” does not work

I get this when I use a direct url to my system, including system id.

If I use a bookmark to the home page it takes me to the last place I was.

If I go and use the bookmarked direct url after a while, it gives me a login page, use the homepage bookmark and it goes to my logged in session… Very odd.

Having the same issue. Also breaks some of my apps that I’ve been using, requiring them to be exited and reopened.

Just came here looking to see if anyone else was having this problem. Seems to be occuring when I connect on a PC, phone, any browser, from any network.
It’s only a minor inconvenience but seems excessive.

OK it is literally every time I visit the site now. Is this by design or something that can be changed?

I can even save the https://pvoutput.org/intraday.jsp?id=???&sid=??? url as a startup one but it somehow changes on next open of the browser as the standard login page so have to assume PVO have some sort of redirect setup or have missed something in a change

this has only started for me in the last week or so and has been fine for monthsif not years beforehand

yes same here unfortunately :frowning:

It is by design, according to another thread. It’s infurating but seems like it’s here to stay.

I can’t find another thread that mentions this. Does it give a reason?

It is annoying, especially since 12 more Firefox tabs that require a login, sign me in automatically as the browser opens - PVOutput is the odd one out.

Very fed up with the need to login every time I want to view something, on every device. I cannot give a link to a friend to view my system without them having to first create a login account and then signing in every time to view - of course they won’t do that and it deters me too.

Surely you could sign up with someone to give you bot protection, such as Cloudflare? Please consider directing some of your donor funds in that direction.

I noticed that when the login page comes up, and I remove the /login.jsp part from the url shown which is https://pvoutput.org/login.jsp I am still logged in and don’t need to enter my credentials (probably some authentication cookie in the browser is still valid)
btw: I use the duckduckgo browser and have the pvoutput.org site marked as fireproofed, which keeps site cookies and such

Which page are you trying to access (list.jsp / intraday.jsp etc) when the login.jsp page appears?

Yes, this is under investigation

It could be any page, such as live, daily, etc. It is only the first connection that requires login, after that all is normal for a time until I restart the browser. I use Firefox mostly but get the same result with other browsers such as Opera. I usually use address https://www.pvoutput.org/intraday.jsp?sid=1234.
I also have been checking another system, same address format but different sid with the same observations. I use an Android tablet as well as Windows PC, all behave the same.
My cookies are permanent (i.e. not deleted), that have persistence until they expire. I can fudge/avoid login by clicking on my link which will bring up the login page, then close that tab. Clicking on the link a second time will bring up the page without having to log in.

This is the expected behaviour, once you are logged in the page should display as normal.

Unfortunately, one cannot send a link to someone, and have them view it unless they have set up an account first and logged in. The view only option has gone.
